EHC Plan Reviews
|
How often and how should EHC plans be reviewed?
|
The Local Authority should formally review the EHC plan, as a minimum, every 12 months.
Reviews must focus on your child or young person’s progress towards achieving the outcomes specified in the EHC plan and consider whether these outcomes and supporting targets are still appropriate.
EHC plan reviews should be used to actively monitor children and young people’s progress towards their outcomes and longer term aspirations.
If your child or young person’s Special Educational Needs change, for example a new diagnosis, the local authority should hold a review as soon as possible to ensure that provision specified in the EHC plan is still appropriate.
Please contact us at the Portsmouth SENDIASS service if you have any questions.
